Data source¶
The data source for an MSA Attribute -- Crosstabulation Method analysis can be in the form of an MSA Template or stacked data format.
This method is used for finding operator agreement.
Note
Reference values are required for calculating the agreement between the operators and the reference values.
Results¶
- Effectiveness tables. Effectiveness of the measurement system is reported in the 'Calculated Score' field.
- Operator agrees with him/herself on all trials. Operators classify each part more than one time. If an operator classifies a part in the same way each time it is measured, then the operator agrees with him/herself for that part. The optimal calculated score is 100%; as the score drops from 100%, the operator is less repeatable.
- Operator agrees on all trials with the known standard. If an operator classifies a part the same as the reference (i.e., the operator accepts the part and the reference value is accepted) then the operator agrees with the standard. The optimal calculated score is 100%. As the score drops from 100% the operator is able to match the known standard. Reference values are required for this table.
- All operators agreed within and between themselves. A match requires both within and between operator agreement. Within agreement requires that an operator, such as Operator 1, classify a part the same way each time they measure the part. Between agreement requires that all operators classify the part in the same way. The optimal calculated score is 100%.
- All operators agreed within and between themselves AND agreed with the reference. A match requires within, between, and a match to the reference. The optimal calculated score is 100%. Reference values are required for this table.
-
Kappa tables. Kappa values represent agreement between two operators or operator and a reference. A Kappa value of 1 indicates a perfect agreement.
- Agreement among the operators.
- Agreement between the operators and a reference. Reference values are required for this table.
-
Crosstabulation. Tables used for comparing each of the operators to the other or to a reference value. Results from these tables are used for calculating Kappa and for calculating effectiveness of the measurement system.
