Import Model from DOE Pro XL¶
From Excel click...
QXL Monte Carlo Tab > Create / Modify Design Sheet > Import Model from DOE Pro
Quantum XL supports several forms of model building including Free Form Model Building, Create Design (IPO) Sheets, Import from DOE Pro, Merge Designs, and Visual Merge. This help topic covers importing models from DOE Pro.
Quantum XL can read or parse a regression table from DOE Pro. Ensure that the active worksheet is a DOE Pro Regression table, then select Import Model from DOE Pro from the Quantum XL menu.
Tip: Quantum XL will parse coded and un-coded regression tables; however, in most cases you will want to import models in un-coded coefficients, so if you attempt to import models in coded coefficients Quantum XL will warn you prior to importing the model.
---
Tip: When Quantum XL imports the model, the low and high values from the DOE are also imported to the Design Sheet. These low and high values are used as the default low and high values during optimization and to note the valid range of the transfer function.
Inputs that have prefix 'Noise_' will be automatically set as Noise inputs. Noise inputs do not appear in the optimization process.
After a Parse, you will need to complete a few tasks.
-
Enter the input distributions and parameters as desired. Selecting Modify Design Sheet will provide assistance and will preserve the transfer functions. Ensure that the distribution parameters for the inputs are in the same units (coded or un-coded) as the regression table.
-
Enter the specification limits for each of the output(s).
-
Quantum XL will automatically add the standard error as the noise for each response. Adjust the standard deviation as appropriate.
-
Check the inputs, transfer functions, and outputs to ensure that everything is as you desire. This is a good time to tweak the names of the outputs and inputs.
-
If you need to add more inputs or outputs, select Modify Design Sheet.
